Amethyst is a variety of Quartz with its colour ranging from pale lilac to an intense, deep purple. One of the most popular crystals throughout history, the purple colour is due to traces of Iron elements inside the Amethyst.

A chevron refers to a V shaped stripe, or line. Chevron Amethyst has a naturally occurring V shape pattern of white quartz throughout.

The name ‘Amethyst’ is derived from the Greek phrase ‘amethystos’ - ‘a’ meaning ‘not’ & ‘methystos’ meaning ‘intoxicated’. 
Therefore, Amethyst translates to ‘not drunk’. 
In Ancient Greece, people wore Amethyst and carved drinking vessels from this beautiful crystal as they believed it aided them in being able to enjoy alcohol without the intoxicating effects.
