Selenite is a crystallised form of gypsum. It is formed when saltwater, rich in sulfate & calcium, evaporates. It has a silky lustre and is relatively transparent.
The name Selenite translates to ‘moon rock’. It is derived from the Greek word ‘Selene’, which means ‘moon’.
